Hi Pownal!

Spring has finally sprung! Although it feels a little more like summer... Just in time for Green Up Day. Reminder that you can pick up garbage bags at the Legion and drop them off on Saturday morning at 9am.

I hope everyone who came out for the Opening Day of Baseball had as good as time as I did. So great seeing all those kids out there with parents in the stands rooting them on. Thanks to all the volunteers who served tasty treats too! Check it out if you haven't gone yet. Really fun!

There are still some openings in the Town Office. Check the website to see if you are interested!

If you have an event coming up or news to announce send the information my way to

Very Best Wishes,
Jenny Dewar, Member of the Pownal Select Board

Keep JD Chapman in your thoughts

As many of you are aware, one of our Pownal’s heroes was severely injured in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, April 27. JD Chapman has been a major part of the emergency services in Pownal as a member of both the Pownal Fire Department and the Pownal Rescue Squad

Many members of both took time to visit with JD for in the hospital. He is in good spirits, but they continue to ask for your thoughts and prayers for a fast and speedy recovery for him.

Preschoolers to Longview Farm

On Tuesday, May 1, the Oak Hill preschoolers visited Longview Farm to play with the animals. They especially enjoyed the baby lambs but they also held chickens and pet the horses. While a group that young could be a bit wild, they were all incredibly respectful and gentle with the babies. What an amazing learning and sharing experience for everyone involved!
