    Free Movie Under the Stars


     Friday - July 20th - Movie starts at dusk.


    Looking for something family-friendly to do on a Friday night? July 20th at the Pownal Little League field on 346. Come watch "The Greatest Showman" under the Stars. Bring your blankets, your chairs, your friends, and family. It will be a blast and the movie begins at dusk. The concession stand will be open and will be cash only. All proceeds from the concession stand go to the Cal Ripken JR. Baseball of Pownal Vermont. This fun family-friendly event is being presented by Faith Church in Pownal, VT.

    25th Annual Pownal Valley Community Fair July 28, 2018 Route 346 Behind the Post Office in Beautiful Downtown Pownal 10:00am - 10:00pm Free Fireworks at 9:15pm

    Pownal Valley Community Fair Association would like to welcome everyone to the homespun community fair in beautiful downtown Pownal. Admission is FREE. Lots of prizes for children. Includes crafters, bands, tractor pulls, Pownal Express, the Antique Car Show, Wood Splitting, Exhibit Hall and much, much more!

    Tour at Hoppy Valley Farm


     August 4th - 2:00pm - 4:00pm


    Take a tour of the hops yard at Hoppy Valley Farm on August 4 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Learn about the many varieties of hops and enjoy samples from Bright Ideas Brewery and Hoppy Valley condiments. Hoppy Valley Farm is located on Route 7 across from the Pownal View Barn. Rain date is at the same time on August 5.

    The Discover Pownal Farms and Food Series, a community-led celebration of Pownal farms and food producers. This year's series will include farm tours and workshops, a July 4th town picnic and a fall harvest festival. Each event is family friendly and costs $5 per person. Children under 12 are free. All proceeds will support future farm and food events in Pownal. The Discover Pownal Farms and Food Series is supported by a Small and Inspiring grant from the Vermont Community Foundation and assistance from Northshire Grows.     Wildstone Farm Tour and Dinner


     August 9th - 6:00pm - 8:00pm


    Learn about growing vegetables organically at a farm tour and dinner at Wildstone Farm on August 9 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Walk the farm while summer vegetables are at their peak in abundance and flavor. Wildstone Farm is located at 536 Schenkar Road. Rain date is at the same time on August 16.

    "Tour de Pownal" Fall Bike Ride


     Saturday, September 22, 2018, 9:45 a.m.


    Welcome in Fall with a free recreational bike tour on September 22, the first day of fall. The ride is co-presented by the Pownal Recreation Task Force and the Hoosic River Watershed Association (HooRWA). The 18-mile "Figure 8" loop begins and ends at at the former Mack Molding parking lot on Route 346, at Lincoln Street. It includes an optional shortcut for a 10-mile version of the ride, or extension for an 23-mile version. (Note: the route is paved except for a one-mile section of hardpack gravel on Indian Massacre Road.) Bring snacks and water. Meet at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. start.

    Harwood Homestead Harvest Fest

    Savor the autumn season at a Harvest Festival at Harwood Homestead on September 22 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Bring the whole family to meet the animals, walk the farm and enjoy a fall feast. Harwood Homestead is located at 549 Cedar Hill Road. Rain date is at the same time on September 23.
